Lula Rae (Saylors) Street, age 76 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 11:05 am on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Rev. David Deem officiating.

Lula was retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier.

Lula is survived by her daughters, Deshae Hale and Deann “Pooh” Metcalf and husband Dusty; step sons, Josh Street and John Street and wife Tesha; grandchildren, Michael Jacobs (Courtney), Matt Jacobs (Aimee), Brayden Campbell, Kelsey Johnson (Landon), and Caitey Metcalf (Dusti); great grandchildren, Adley Jacobs, Emery Jacobs, Demi Jacobs, Ava Jacobs, Luna Metcalf, Maddox Metcalf, and Emerson Metcalf; sister, Kim (Saylors) Rush and husband Lee; several nieces and nephews.

Lula was preceded in death by her parents, J.E. and Lydia (Shockley) Saylors; sister, Rita Kay Saylors; best friend, Mary Jo House.

Memorials may be made in Lula’s name to Hope Lodge, 2008 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203.

Honorary Pallbearers will be John Street, Zack Donaldson, Wyatt Weaver, Brayden Campbell, Matt Jacobs, and Michael Jacobs.
